The Transformational Power of GratitudeSample

Entrusted
Everything we come across is an opportunity to give thanks. The situations and circumstances we encounter. The wealth and possessions we accumulate. The gifts and talents we discover. The knowledge we gain—the wisdom bestowed upon us.
We spend so much time trying to attain more. We imagine our struggles are a result of a lack of quantity. If only we had more money, a better job, and a different relationship. If only we lived in a city with more to do (or less to do). We waste so much time fantasizing about what we don’t have. What we do have is hoarded on a shelf, ignored and unused, lacking in gratitude and mobility.
Scripture says we have all we need for righteousness. A good life is not about what you have or how much you have. It is about what you do with the opportunities in front of you.
When we are faithful to the opportunities we have in front of us, there is a compounding effect on our lives. It leads to more opportunities, though not necessarily wealth, more stuff, or perfect circumstances. We are entrusted with opportunities to teach and influence others, to serve and care for others, and to engage in meaningful relationships.
The true riches of the kingdom are not the things we have, but the opportunity to steward our resources to celebrate Christ and His kingdom.
