Through God's EyesSample

Let's discuss what it means to be obedient to the call of God and see biblical examples of those who did exactly that. Missions did not begin after the resurrection through the Great Commission. Let’s go back to see how God called some of our spiritual parents in the Old Testament into His service. Wisdom may come from observing the various ways God calls people and the various missions and ministries in which He calls us to serve Him.
When we look at the Bible, we see many examples of faithful men and women who, when God called, obeyed and served Him. One example would be the story of Abraham. Abraham was known as the father of many nations. God chose Abraham to go where He called him to go. Exactly where? Canaan. But Abraham was faithful and obedient to what God was asking him to do.
Another example is Moses. (Exodus 3:11-12) When God calls Moses to return to his birthplace and bring His people out of Egypt. While Moses has doubts and does not call himself a leader, God promises He will always be with Moses.
Both stories have some similarities and differences. However, the first similarity is that Moses and Abram were already settled in a comfortable place until God called them to move. Meaning both of them had to get out of their comfort zone to get out and serve God. Both men had different responses.
Abram decided to follow God without doubting. However, Moses had doubts and was unsure if God had picked the right man for this role. It tested Moses’s faith and can turn into doubting God, too. But God is always right and chose the right man for this mission.
We are like Abram or Moses at this point of our life when God calls us to do something to serve Him. Whenever our response is, we must remember the reason why God has called us to serve Him and His purpose.
Lastly, most important of all. We must remember what God has promised Abram and Moses: “I will always be with you,” and He kept that promise.
Is God calling you? What people, groups, or places has the Lord placed on your heart?
