Trust God to Grow

Even the most mature Christians struggle with sin from time to time. It is part of being human. Even the apostle Paul, who wrote a good part of the New Testament by the Holy Spirit’s leading and planted churches all over the known world in his lifetime, struggled against sin.

However, God is merciful and does not allow His children to suffer temptation beyond what they can bear. For every temptation the devil throws out at them, God provides a means of escape so that His children will not be defeated or discouraged. All they have to do is look for the escape, take it, and trust God to grow them through the experience so they can help others facing the same thing.

Even when they do not take the escape God offers and instead commit sin, knowingly or unknowingly, Christians can experience God’s grace, mercy, and forgiveness. While the sin that they commit after salvation doesn’t unsave them, it can cause relational static between them and God, making it necessary for them to seek God’s forgiveness to remove that static. When they confess their sin, God forgives them, clearing up the static and giving them one more reason to love Him, the One who turns sinners into saints.
