Christian courtship is distinct from secular dating or relationships. It's rooted in the belief that God has a unique plan for each individual, including their romantic relationships. This approach involves prayer, seeking God's guidance, and pursuing a relationship with the intent of discerning if it aligns with God's will and leads to a lifelong commitment. (Proverbs 3:5-6) "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

The objective of Christian courtship is to glorify God through a relationship that mirrors the love and sacrifice Christ showed for His Church.

The Significance of Purity

Purity, in the context of Christian courtship, encompasses physical, emotional, and spiritual purity. It involves honoring God with our bodies, thoughts, and intentions. Here's why purity is significant:

1. Honoring God's Commandments: God calls us to live a life of purity, respecting His commandments and preserving ourselves for the spouse He has prepared for us.

(1 Corinthians 6:18-20)"Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies."

2. Creating a Strong Foundation: Purity forms a solid foundation for a lasting relationship. It cultivates trust, respect, and a deeper emotional connection.

(1 Corinthians 13:4-7)"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
