Growing With the Help of the Great GardenerSample

Growing With the Help of the Great Gardener

DAY 1 OF 7

Planting The Seed

A number of years ago, I tried my hand at growing my own carrots and cucumbers from seed. It was so exciting to prepare the soil and plant the seeds, all the while choosing the best location for them to grow.

Unfortunately, there is no story to tell about the carrots which never came to fruition -- but the cucumbers! Now that was a learning curve! I planted them, and they did begin to sprout! I checked on them in the morning and night to track their progress. Ah, the joy that I experienced in tending to my little seedlings!

I feel like God did the same for us when He created us, and he still does so throughout our lives. He prepares the environments in which we will grow up and the different soils we will experience throughout life. He tries to give us the right nutrition through soil, sun, and water, and He knows the best locations for us to grow.

But life isn’t always a veggie patch without pests.

You might be thinking about your life right now and the environment you are in.

Are you living in a garden with nutritious soil that is helping you to grow to be the best person you can be? Do you have a gardener helping to maintain the garden and get rid of the pests?

I invite you to join me over the next few days as we follow the growing of my cucumbers and how gardening is actually a very relatable comparison to our lives.

Dear God,

Thank you for taking the time to create me and plant me in this universe.

Even though it can be hard and the conditions aren’t always ideal, help me to weather the storms.

Thank you for being willing to help me to grow.

Amen.

Day 2

About this Plan

Growing With the Help of the Great Gardener

Going through this world isn't always sunshine and roses, but there is a lot we can learn from nature. As plants need certain things in their environment to grow to their full potential, we too require certain things to help us thrive. Luckily, we have a Great Gardener to help us through! I hope you are encouraged by joining this plan, and that though we experience trials, we can overcome!
