God's Redemption Story (Judges - 2 Samuel)Sample

David & Bathsheba - 1/5
Because God called David a man after his own heart, we sometimes assume David could do no wrong. While David was a man of great faith who loved and followed God, that faith did not make him impervious to temptation. David’s sin with Bathsheba started with a seemingly small decision. “In the Spring when kings march out to war” (2 Samuel 11:1), David, the king, stayed home. A few bad choices later, Bathsheba was pregnant.
Like David, our own sin is only ever a few bad choices away. That’s why guarding our hearts is so crucial. We must constantly seek the Lord and not get comfortable in what we deem “good enough.” Even our small decisions should begin with God.
