Good Enough

DAY 3 OF 5

Did you know that God never changes? He is always the same. Already in Genesis 18, He makes the impossible possible. His will was to give birth to His people from Abraham. And that happened even though Sarah had long since ceased to be fertile.

That same God made it possible for me to be transferred from the Portuguese jail to the Dutch jail when it was not allowed at all. I was to serve my remaining time in Holland, close to my family, but suddenly that was no longer possible. As I had given a false name when I was arrested in Portugal, I had been given an additional punishment. Since giving a false name is not a punishable offense in the Netherlands, according to the law, I could not serve my remaining sentence in the Netherlands.

I was devastated.

In my cell, praying and believing, I insisted on His Word: If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will come to you (John 15:7).

My deepest wish was to go to Holland.

The next day, the jailer was at my door telling me I was going to Holland.

I could not believe him.

But a few days later, I was on the plane.

Until I landed in Holland, I was afraid they would change their mind. That thought wasn't odd because when I arrived, it was confirmed that I shouldn't have been able to come to Holland.

"How is it possible you're here?" they asked me.

"By God," I answered. Because that is the only explanation.

God loves us so much that he works miracles in seemingly hopeless situations. Several times, I have witnessed such things, from people who were short of money and suddenly had exactly the right amount in their account to supernatural healings.

The Bible regularly mentions that nothing is impossible for God. Jesus also mentions it several times.

How do you feel about this?
That you are a son or daughter of the God who is supreme, for whom no question is too difficult and no problem unsolvable?

It is a true blessing to belong to His family and to be allowed to live in the Truth of His power.

Have you ever been discouraged because something didn't seem to work out when deep down you knew it was God's will?

After reading this Bible plan, how do you feel about it now?

Blessings,
Johan
