21 Days of Prayer & FastingSample

21 Days of Prayer & Fasting

DAY 19 OF 21

Use the following steps below as a guide for your daily encounters each day.

1. Connect with God

There is only one way to God, and it’s through Jesus—but in Jesus, there are many ways to connect with God. This month, we are growing in connecting with God through fasting, so take time to ask the Lord what your encounters should look like during your fast.

2. Worship & Pray in the Holy Spirit!

Start with your favorite worship song and pray in your heavenly language. If you don’t have your heavenly language, ask God for it! Then tell Him you love Him over and over again.

3. Begin praying how Jesus taught us to pray!

“Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” Matthew 6:9-13

  • Begin praying by declaring, “Father, you are HOLY!”
  • Pray for God’s perfect will to be done in your life. “God, not my will, but yours!”
  • Tell God what it is that you need. He is your provider!
  • Repent. Lay down your sins before God and ask for forgiveness.
  • List out by name those you need to forgive and ask God for help!
  • Grace is a gift we all can access—open the gift and accept God’s grace to overcome sin.
  • Declare “no spirit but the Holy Spirit” is welcome in your life!

4. As for WHAT to pray, here is a list to get you started. Add your own specific daily prayer points!

  • Your Family
  • Your Friends and any person that comes up in your spirit as you pray
  • Your Job/Work
  • Your City
  • Your Church & Church Leaders
  • Add your own**

5. After you pray, give God room to speak to you.

"Speak Lord, Your servant is listening."

6. Ask God to teach you His ways.

Exodus 33:13b says, “If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you.” After He speaks to you, ask Him to teach you. Repeat what you heard God say out loud. Write down what He says and obey Him. This is one way we steward God’s words!

7. Pray the Prayer of Reformation!

“Lord, I ask for You to reform any crooked ways within me. I seek Heaven’s blueprint and ask for Your heart and Your mind in all things. I pray, less of me, more of You! I want what You want. Show me what pleases You. Let Your will be done! If I perish, I perish, but I will make straight the way of The Lord. Lord, You are holy, make me holy! I pray for revival and reformation in my family, city, state, America and the nations! Amen.”
