Jesus often taught in parables. These are stories from real-life that illustrate a spiritual principle. The parables today talk about how people respond to God’s Word and our responsibility to make it known. God’s Word grows in people in ways we don’t see or control, but nevertheless, it grows.

Not everyone we talk to about Jesus is ready to listen, but even the preparation of the soil is the farmer’s responsibility. Like Jesus, we can find ways to tell people about Jesus that are easier for them to understand. We won’t always be successful, and sometimes we only plant the seed, but hopefully it leads to them becoming more open to hearing what they need to hear.
