The Faith That Receives the PromisesSample

The Faith That Receives the Promises

DAY 2 OF 3

Strengthen your faith to capture your legacy.

Since our inheritance is available and we can enjoy it by faith, how do we strengthen our faith?

First of all by reading the Bible with the eyes of faith.

Romans 10:17 (SG21) So faith comes from hearing, and hearing comes from the word of God.

Do not read the Bible out of duty, routine, or guilt.

Read the Bible expecting to discover something. It is, to use yesterday's image, like opening the door of your freezer expecting to discover food.

There are refrigerators with a transparent door to see the contents without opening the door and thus save energy.

Reading the Bible allows us to see what our spiritual heritage contains.

He is invisible, but God reveals him to us in his Word.

Our faith can then take hold of it so that it becomes a reality in our lives. For example, God promises us his consolation, his healing, his love, and his peace.

Once we are aware of this, we can approach God in faith to receive his promises.

Here are 3 tips for reading the Bible with faith.

1. Remember that God has not changed.

You are not reading a biography of a deceased historical figure. The word of God is a revelation of Jesus Christ, who is the same yesterday, today, and for eternity. What he did for the biblical characters, he wants to do for you too.

2. All the biblical characters were human like you.

It was not their great strength, intelligence, or innate talents that enabled them to experience the glory of God, but their simple faith in his promises. So you can follow their example. That is why their story has been passed on to us, to serve as an example.

3. The promises of God are yes in Jesus. So you can make them your own and say to God the "Amen", that is, "So be it", in Jesus' name.

I invite you to pray with me.

Lord, thank you for your Word, please reveal to me through the Holy Spirit your promises for me. Give me spiritual understanding to understand what you are doing. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
