Philippians

DAY 17 OF 28

Our faith is full of mysteries that can sometimes look like a total paradox. Jesus tells us that in order to find our life we need to first lose it, and James writes for us to rejoice because of our suffering. There is a famous saying attributed to several English writers that states “A paradox was a truth standing on its head in order to attract attention.”
Consider those words and ask God what He is trying to highlight as you read today. Specifically, look at this passage from the chapter: “I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his suffering, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining the resurrection from the dead” (verses 10-11).

About this Plan

Philippians

The letter to the church in Philippi is an incredible example of what it means to live as a follower of Jesus in light of what was accomplished in Jesus' death and resurrection. This book is an essential text for the church as we seek to live the way of Jesus in practice.
