THE MAN IN CHRIST

“Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV

As popular as this verse of scripture is, only a few believers have been able to fully grasp the depth and blessedness of it. It is the most revolutionary truth ever scripted. A truth that simply opens our eyes to new(many) possibilities and new spiritual horizons.

It is good for us to explore the deep meaning of what it means to be a Man in Christ. In simple terms and definition, a Man in Christ is one who has believed the gospel, that is, the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ for the sins and justification of mankind. So, faith in Christ as the savior of mankind is what makes one a Man in Christ. It's not difficult to grasp. Sense and logic may fight it, but faith truly assures us of this most blessed truth.

We are Men in Christ, for as many of us who are reading this, have put our faith in Christ, for salvation. We are not some religious fanatics; we are new men, who are different from the world. Accepting and owning this simple truth will start us on a journey of the true spiritual and godly life. Our identity is in Christ. Our destiny is in Christ. Our life is Christ. We are all that Christ is because we are in Him.

It is highly expedient that we see ourselves in the light of what we have become in Christ so that we can fully live in the reality of our identity. Because you are in Christ your past is gone and your future is secured. Your past no longer defines you but your new identity as a Man in Christ is your real definition and reality.

You can take some time today to allow the truth that you have a new identity and new possibilities in Christ to overwhelm your heart till you see yourself in Christ as Christ sees you in Him.
