DAY 2 OF 3

Feelings

Our feelings can be a powerful force, influencing our decisions and attitudes. However, God's truth reminds us that our hearts can be deceitful. Jeremiah 17:9 cautions, "The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?" Relying solely on our emotions can lead us astray, causing us to act impulsively or make choices that may not align with God's will.

Proverbs 14:12 emphasizes this truth, "There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end, it leads to death." Human reasoning often appears appealing, but if it contradicts God's truth, it can lead us away from His perfect plan for our lives.

To overcome the deception of our hearts, we must prioritize following God's truth. By grounding ourselves in His Word, we gain wisdom and discernment. We learn to filter our emotions through the lens of Scripture, ensuring that our feelings do not become idols that hinder our walk with God.

When we submit our emotions to God's truth, we find peace in knowing that His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:9). Even in moments of uncertainty or emotional turmoil, we can trust in His unfailing love and guidance.

Let us prayerfully seek His guidance daily, inviting the Holy Spirit to lead us and align our hearts with God's truth. As we surrender our feelings to Him, we discover a deeper intimacy with our Heavenly Father and experience the freedom and joy of living in obedience to His perfect will.
