Jesus-style leaders build freedom and flourishing in those who follow them.

Read Luke 4:16-22

In this Scripture, Jesus was preaching in his hometown synagogue at the beginning of his public ministry. He was outlining his mission. He explained that he had come to offer good news, freedom, fresh sight, release, and a new season of the Lord’s favor through the Spirit. That sounds exciting to me. Jesus knew that his grace ministry was going to be incredibly freeing for those who were struggling and that broken people were going to flourish. I know that you are not Jesus, but those who lead with grace empowered by the Spirit bring good news and fresh freedom to the broken. If you lead with grace, the Lord’s favor will flow and those who follow you well will flourish. It’s true that you and your followers will face tough times and big challenges, but the grace journey moves us to health, freedom, and joy. This is where we take those who follow us.

Prayer

Thank you for graciously calling me to your mission, Jesus. May my grace-filled service and leadership bring freedom and flourishing to those who are searching and hurting and struggling. May many hear and experience your good news through me.
