Two Kingdoms - Part 3Sample

Two Kingdoms - Part 3

DAY 3 OF 7

Read Matthew 13:31 - 13:35

Today's passage is quite short but full of meaning! If you've never seen a mustard seed, take a minute to Google it. It's tiny at first, but it grows into a plant and adds spice and flavour to meals. Similarly, a little bit of yeast has a huge effect on flour when mixed together.

You might feel that alone, your impact or faith is small. However, you are part of something much bigger: the Kingdom of God! What might feel like a small beginning can and will have eternal repercussions. If you stay close to Jesus and root your life in the Word, your faith and relationship with the Father will grow into a strong tree. You may not see changes right away but trust that you are being transformed more and more into the likeness of Jesus.

Go deep: One thing that can help remind us that we are part of something bigger is through connecting with others to read the Bible, praying together, and going deep into His Word with our small groups. The overflow of us living out the Kingdom of God together leads to service. As we grow and go deeper with God, we will find ourselves thinking less about our own lives and desires and more about how we can serve others. Who can you serve today? Who needs your help?

Be bold: Think back to the image in these verses of the birds perching on the branches of the tree. A life lived with God leads to blessing, and that blessing is to be shared. Who needs to hear about the love of God today?

Memorise it: "Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.” Matthew 13:32 NIV
