3 Keys to Deep PrayerSample
Key 1: The Name of Jesus
Do you want your prayer time to feel deep and personal every time you pray? Do you long to sink into the depths of God’s manifest presence, where all things are made new and you see things with His eyes?
If so, the three simple keys in this Bible Plan will help you enter into deep prayer. Here’s the first key:
Always pray in Jesus’ name.
When you “pray in Jesus’ name,” you are coming before the Father and acknowledging that Jesus is the Way to the Father.
In other words, by simply saying, “Dear Heavenly Father, I come before You in Jesus’ name,” you are admitting openly that Jesus is the Door to the Father. You are admitting your dependence on Jesus for even the privilege of being able to access God.
Also, when you pray in Jesus’ name, you are presenting JESUS as your proof that you can have the things for which you ask.
It is only because Jesus shed His blood and died for us that we can receive anything from God at all. Without Jesus, we were completely separated from God, and from His blessing.
But, Jesus shed His blood for us to be reconciled to God. That reconciliation includes the fact that now we can experience all that God has to give us.
Friend, when you pray in the name of Jesus, you are confessing your dependence upon Jesus.
You are also presenting Jesus to the Father as the One who saved you and reconciled you to God. That is why it’s so vital to pray in the name of Jesus; and, it's why Jesus taught us that He will always answer the prayer lifted up in His own name.
