Sing, Sing, Sing - A Devotional From Anchor HymnSample
Sing, Sing, Sing
What kind of instrument does God make? What radio station would be a favorite in heaven? What song is on repeat forever and ever?
I don’t have the answers. But I’ve heard a loving family sing together around the dinner table. And a mass choir shake the rafters as they raise “How Great Thou Art.” And my mom humming a simple lullaby around the house, whispering thanksgiving for all of her blessing.
There is something strangely powerful about the human voice, and something especially divine about more than one voice singing together. Singing carries stories of faith and traditions of generations. But most importantly, it binds the mind, body, spirit, and soul together in unity and harmony.
As Psalm 145:4 tells us: “One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts.” We are meant to pass the truths about God through the generations, and more often than not, we do that through songs.
So... sing. We are God’s instrument. We are God’s favorite. May our sound fill the halls of eternity, not because it’s perfect, but because it’s honest and sincere. Sing, sing, sing.
