3 Biblical Promises About God's Provision (Part 2: Peter)Sample
Day 1: Taking the Plunge into Our Greater Purpose
"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will send you out to fish for people." At once, they left their nets and followed him.
Imagine that you're a no-frills fisherman chilling on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. You and your brother are tossing nets into the water – just another day at the office.
Then, Jesus strolls up and invites you to leave everything you know to follow Him. Talk about a plot twist! Can you feel the mix of excitement, uncertainty, and hope bubbling up inside you? Would you dare to ditch your day job and follow Jesus into the great unknown?
Taking a page from Peter and Andrew's playbook, we see that trusting God with our cash and resources is a big deal (with a big reward)! They left their steady income behind to chase a higher calling. They chose faith over financial stability, banking on Jesus to cover their needs.
Reflection:
- Ask God to search your heart and reveal any area where you're clutching onto financial security instead of trusting God's provision.
- Identify ways you can invest your resources in God's Kingdom rather than just stockpiling wealth for yourself.
- Take a moment and decide to trust God with your finances, even when it feels like you're jumping off the high dive.
Let's pray:
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the example set by Peter and Andrew, who bravely left their nets to follow Jesus. Guide me to look past my bank account and to trust You with my finances. Teach me how to invest in Your Kingdom and to rely on Your provision. Grant me the courage to step out in faith, even when it feels like I'm walking a tightrope.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
