Before the VowSample
Building a Partnership
I adore my fiance. Not only has he become my best friend, but he is someone I couldn’t see life without. The foundation of our partnership is grace, love, and a mutual expression of respect.
Building our partnership was not easy. We had to decide to continually learn from each other and submit to each other daily. We could only do that through our dependence on the Lord and our commitment to our future union. Not every moment has been ideal, but perfection has never been the goal. He is our goal, we perfectly and imperfectly strive to live a life pleasing to Him.
As you grow in your pursuit of the vow, I hope that you take some time to build with your partner. Take time to dream together, and ask the Lord to reveal His desires for your partnership
My partner and I have implemented different ways to check in with each other and share our hopes, dreams, and desires. At the end of each day, we share our roses and thorns. A rose is something beautiful, something positive that happened that day. The thorn is something that was challenging that happened that day. After we share, we discuss ways that we grew from the thorn experience and how we planned to go into the next day. By doing this, we have been able to learn more about each other, strengths, weaknesses and ways that we can grow moving forward. As you grow in partnership, find ways to develop your love and commitment, as you do so, God will strengthen you.

About this Plan
An Esther season gifts us time and space to develop and become the person Christ wants us to be before taking marriage vows. As our hearts bubble with joyful gratitude because we’ve found the one whom our soul loves, our minds and hands race toward the day when we make that covenant commitment. Seek God and be refined by his grace as we prepare for all that is to come.
