A Kid's Guide To: Knowing Who God IsSample
You’ll Never Know
I pray that you and all God’s people will understand what is called wide or long or high or deep. I want you to know all about Christ’s love, although it is too wonderful to be measured. Then your lives will be filled with all that God is.
Ephesians 3:18–19 (CEV)
Have you heard this old camp song?
“Nobody likes me, everybody hates me, guess I’ll go eat worms!”
It’s a goofy, gross song and we usually laugh when we sing it.
But sometimes, it feels a little too true. Sometimes it seems like nobody likes us. But just because it feels that way doesn’t mean it’s true. There’s lots of things we think we know are true, but we are wrong.
One thing we can absolutely know is true, no matter how we feel about it, is God’s love. We will never reach the end or the bottom of it. We will never understand it completely because it is so massive. We can spend our whole lives learning more and more about it. We’re swimming in it! We can’t do anything so bad that he would stop loving us.
So instead of worrying about how many friends you have or what people say about you or how to look good in everyone’s eyes, study how much God loves you by reading your Bible every day. You’ll never get that all figured out!
SPIRITUAL FITNESS TRAINING
Have you ever visited the Grand Canyon? It is in Arizona, and it is one of the seven wonders of the world! It is so, so big . . . but still not as big as God’s love for you! Sketch it on some paper or in a journal. If you need ideas, ask a parent to help you look up pictures of it online.
PRAY
God, sometimes it seems like no one cares, but I know you do. Thank you for your unending love.
