“Kingdom Perspective”

Scripture reading: Proverbs 4:23; Matthew 6:25-34; Romans 12:1-2

One of the verses my parents had me commit to memory as a child was Matthew 6:33. The ESV says, “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” In other words, put God first and watch everything fall into place.

When Jesus directs us to seek His kingdom first, it’s within the backdrop of Him instructing us not to worry about the basics of life, such as what we’ll eat, what we’ll wear, where we’ll live. In Matthew 6:30, He tells us, “And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you.”

The Lord invites us to a new reality that is available to us when we accept His offer to supply all of our needs and live in the abundance of His love.

What would your mind look like if you allowed God to wash away your worries and cancel out wrong thinking? He would help you apply Proverbs 4:23 and “guard your heart above all else.” The mind of Christ would activate and help you screen your thoughts through the Lord’s divine filter. He would show you what negative people, habits, or thoughts should be removed. There would be less entertaining of what hurts you and more of what grows you.

What would your life look like if you put the kingdom of God first? The Lord said, “All these things will be added to you,” so expect to operate in purpose more! Await the provision and grace to navigate whatever goes on at school, work, or right at home. Anticipate an anointing of supernatural creativity! Activate the authority and favor the Lord has given you to walk into the rooms He has called you to walk into and sit comfortably at the tables that He has set just for you.
