DAY 20 OF 20

When we cry out to God, we can know without a doubt that He is listening to whatever we say. Do we feel the same when we’re sending praise to God? And even more—are we sending praise just as much as we send cries? Of course, God wants to hear both from us, and wouldn’t want us to sacrifice one because we’re doing too much of the other. We don’t have to praise and never ask God for anything, but we also shouldn’t only cry out for help without acknowledging our appreciation for His grace, power, and protection. God asks us for both—the things we struggle with, as well as praise for what He has done for us.

This week, spend some time journaling or writing down a prayer and praise for each day. What is one thing that you need help with or need guidance on, and what is one thing that you want to thank God for—an aspect of God that you appreciate? Hopefully doing this exercise each day will help us develop a habit of not only asking for what we need but also giving praise and thanksgiving to our God who loves and listens to us whenever we cry out to Him.

Day 19

About this Plan

He Is

Getting to know someone takes time. It’s the same with our relationship with God. God doesn’t just want us to know facts about Him or only speak to Him through prayers sporadically said throughout our lives. God wants us to have a relationship with Him based on us knowing who He is. We will walk together through Scriptures that are filled with descriptions of God’s attributes and promises to help us know Him more.
