The Snare of the Fowler

"Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence." Psalm 91:3 NKJV

The Hebrew definition of a snare is a "bird trap" or "trap." A fowler is a "trapper, bait-layer." The enemy is the fowler; he baits us into falling into his traps of lies and deceit. He sees us as weak little birds he can lure with his devious schemes. According to the Enduring Word Commentary, the fowler "works in secret" and "changes his trap and methods." The enemy changes tactics, so we won't recognize when he is at work. But surely God will deliver us.

Devil, I recognize your tactics and methods to trap me. However, I cannot be lured into your schemes. My Father delivers me from your snares and all sickness and disease. I have the backing of God to protect me and rescue me from your grip. My spiritual eyes have been strengthened to recognize your traps of deception. I have outsmarted you. I see your web of deceit; therefore, I cannot be entangled in them. My Father has freed me, and I am no longer weak to your devices. You have been conquered in Jesus' name. Amen.
