BECAUSE LOST PEOPLE MATTER
When we look at the early church (the group of Jesus-followers that were meeting together after Jesus' death and resurrection), we see that when they got together, God moved. And when God moved, lost people got saved. It's just what happens.
This is what we call 'church.'
And instead of arguing that your absence will affect someone's meeting Jesus, let's just ask this question: Why wouldn't seeing someone meet Jesus be of the highest priority to you? When Jesus has your heart and your life, when He's saved you from the brink of your own self-destruction, and when you know He's everything to you, watching others experience the same thing becomes addicting. In fact, we might even say that the greatest testament to what God has done in your life is the way you feel about lost people. Do you hurt for them? Are you bothered, burdened by the fact that they are living a hopeless, depressing existence, some even wishing for death? Does it keep you up at night?
If those things aren't true of you, you may need to go back and ask God to remind you just what He saved you from. If those things ARE true of you, then prove it. Be in the Presence of God every chance you can among believers and those far from Christ. If you get an opportunity every single week to invite someone who knows nothing about Jesus' love to a building full of changed people, why wouldn't you take that chance?
Why does attending church matter?
BECAUSE LOST PEOPLE MATTER.
About this Plan
When you're broken, addicted, and lost, and you experience Jesus, attending church is everything to you. When you take it for granted and your life begins to turn around, there's a tendency to treat church like an accessory to our lives instead of it being what our lives are built on. This Bible plan helps readers to remember just how important it is to be in the Presence of God and fellow Jesus-followers on a regular basis!
