The Lord Bless YouSample

God’s blessing is linked to fulfilling our purpose. When God first interacted with the human beings He created, He blessed them. In the same breath—literally the same sentence—He delineated their purpose.

These people who were created in God’s image were to multiply the God-image throughout the earth. They were to take what they had in the Garden of Eden—God’s presence, unashamed relationships, abundance, beauty, and more—and fill the earth with it. They were to establish God’s rule and govern under His authority. In short, with an intimate relationship, they were to partner with Him to do His work. Blessing was not just about the good God wanted to do to them and in them. Blessing was also the good He wanted to do with them and through them.

When we come into relationship with God through Jesus, we are not only reconciled with God, but we are restored to our God-given purpose. This is why there is nothing as fulfilling as being in an intimate relationship with God and doing work that reflects what He cares about. Life becomes meaningful when we wake up to who we were made to be and what we were made to do.

Maybe God is calling you to start a new business, become a foster parent, go back to school or step out in faith and serve in a ministry. Blessing is found in saying, “Yes!” and joining God in His great adventure.

This world cannot be all it was meant to be without you. Explore your unique place in this world, ask questions about mission, passion, gifts, and most of all, ask God to bring all of this together by His Spirit to reveal what is in His mind for you. He has astounding plans for you! Are you living out your indispensability?
