Five Days in Creation for Parents and KidsSample
Today: Take a brief walk near a body of water: a pond, creek, river, waterfall, lake, ocean—whatever is close and accessible.
Say something like:
Close your eyes and listen to the water. Think of the sounds as a song. What would it sound like if you had to sing the song of the [insert name of body of water]?
(Offer suggestions to your little one and make noises of water together, such as “gurgle, gurgle,” or “shwoosh.”)
Although God’s song is always around us, sometimes we forget—or even get used to—the wonderful melody His creation sings. Isn’t it fun to stop and listen to the beautiful sounds the water makes?
How can you be reminded to listen more to the sounds of creation? Let’s talk about some other songs we hear in creation. (Discuss how the song of water differs from the song in the jungle, and how the song of the kitten differs from the song of the tiger, and so on.)
Pray: Ask God to help you and your little one pay better attention to the song Creation sings.

About this Plan
Each day, take a walk with your little one to a different destination in creation and hear the unique songs of joy that praise God there. Using five different Psalms, you’ll explore the delight of the sun, moon, stars, earth, sky, water, and animals. You and your child will learn to praise God in a new way during this five-day devotional.
