NEW PASSION

Ephesians 2:10 NIV For we are his workmanship, having been created in Christ Jesus for good works that God prepared beforehand so we may do them

“That we may do them” - God prepared stuff for us to do. I think we should be doing it. If we want to know what it is that we are to do, then all we need to do is ask Him. Maybe this devotion today is your confirmation that you should be getting on with the work he has put before you. There is a whole heap of stuff that God calls us to even before he sends us into the mission field, calls us to ministry or asks us to fast and pray. I am talking about things like loving and caring for your spouse, raising your children to be inspirational leaders and world changers, modelling Christ to your neighbours and grocery store attendants, making an encouraging phone call to a discouraged friend and mowing your pastor’s lawn (gotcha there!).

My heart for us all in the new year is that we would find a NEW passion for the things that we already know we are called to be faithfully doing.

Prayer: God, deposit within me a new passion for the things I have already put my hand to. Thank you for entrusting me with the responsibilities I have. I am eager to make this year the best one yet, for those in my world, as I passionately serve them.
