Precious Moments That Count For EternitySample
Joy to the World
Those who call me on my cell phone are greeted by the endearing Christmas carol ‘Joy to the world’ all through the year, not just at Christmas time. Most callers think I am plain lazy, but a few do realize that I want to celebrate the birth of Jesus every single day. What a joyous, momentous event it was – I do not ever want to forget the impact of it on my life.
These days, news on television and in the papers is frightening and disheartening – and we long to hear some heart-warming news. Friends, the best news was spread more than 2000 years ago – the Savior of mankind was born on this earth. The news was good then and it is good now – God sent His only begotten Son to the earth so that whoever believed in Him would have everlasting life (John 3:16). It caused great joy then, and it causes great joy now and every single day.
Jesus came to save not just a few but all people. Including me! Irrespective of where, when and amongst whom I was born, Jesus came to save me! This realization filled my heart with unspeakable joy when I first heard it. That God so loved every individual on earth that He sent His beloved Son to save each one of them, including me. He came to take our sickness and curses on Himself and in turn shower us with healing and blessings. He came to show us the way, truth and life, and make everything new.
Come, let’s rejoice in our Savior who came to give us life in abundance, on this earth. Let’s celebrate His coming every day!
Prayer
Lord, thank You for sending Your Son to us. It is the best news we will ever receive. I pray that every heart will jump with joy at this news, and every tongue will confess that Jesus is their Lord and Savior. Amen.
