Precious Moments That Count For EternitySample

God’s Rainbow
A rainbow is caused by the reflection, refraction and dispersion of light from the sun being broken up by water droplets in the atmosphere. The sun’s light is white, but the water droplets break it up into seven different colors, resulting in a multicolor spectrum of light appearing in the sky.
I don’t know of anyone who does not feel happy or just awestruck looking at a rainbow. Whenever I see a rainbow breakout in the sky, I am reminded of the personal covenant and certain promises God has given me for my individual life. Like, in Genesis 9:13, I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant (never again to destroy the earth through flood waters) between Me and the earth.
In Ezekiel 1:28, God’s glory is likened unto that of a rainbow. In Revelation 10:1, the angel with a rainbow on his head is likened to Christ Himself. Revelation 4:3 talks about a rainbow around the throne of God and heaven being full of colors.
God created everything on earth in the same colorful manner. Imagine a world without color; all black, white and grey. It would be so depressing! Colors light up our surroundings. Emotionally too, they lift our spirits up.
The rainbow to me is always a reminder of the marvel of God’s awesomeness in creation. Similarly, we don’t even know or can’t even imagine, the things God has prepared for us (1 Corinthians 2:9) - good things, marvelous things and supernatural things. Just like His amazing creation around us.
Prayer
Lord, when I’m sad and can’t understand some things in my life, help me remember that I may not see or hear or imagine the amazing things You have prepared for me; yet when I see a rainbow, may I know You will never break Your covenant with me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
