Precious Moments That Count For EternitySample

To Those who Love God
It was the fifth of September, 1986. I was in my sixth month of flying as a flight attendant for PanAm, an American airline. I enjoyed my job and never declined flights if the company wanted me to fly in place of someone who couldn’t report for duty for any reason.
That particular Friday, I was in London spending time with a friend. I woke up to the horrible news, that the PanAm flight from Mumbai (then Bombay) was hijacked at Karachi airport in Pakistan. My colleagues were on that airplane. They went through a terrible time along with the passengers. Several people lost their lives, including a crew member who was in the same training batch as I was a few months ago. I should have been happy I had escaped all of this – I wasn’t. I was just a twenty-six year old bachelor, who wanted to be with my colleagues and help passengers in need. But God had other plans for me by keeping me in London for a few days. Years later, I knew God had ordered my steps for my good. Many of my colleagues were injured during the shoot out while escaping the airplane and went through a tough recovery from the mental and emotional trauma they had been through.
Today I want to remind you, that when you call on the name of Jesus, God is your Father, and He has great plans for you. Even when it may not make sense to you, His plans are still the best.
So, the next time you go through something you don’t particularly enjoy or like, just know that God is setting you up for something good or rescuing you from some unforeseen danger up ahead. Just go on and thank Him because He has the best instore for you.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I know You have plans for my good and wellbeing. Help me to understand that especially when unpleasant situations come my way, You are still setting me up to bless me. I thank You, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

About this Plan

It is our prayer that it will reveal to those who don’t know Jesus Christ, that there is a Creator and Maker of this universe, the only loving and powerful God who longs for a personal relationship with every human being. We pray that these daily readings will remind us all of the great hope and abundant joy in knowing Jesus Christ, through whom we have eternal life!
