Precious Moments That Count For EternitySample

Keep Calm and Be at Rest
During times of trials, persecution and even the routine pressures of life, only God can give us peace in answer to prayer. This feeling of rest defies all human understanding because the apparent suggests otherwise.
Cornelia (Corrie) ten Boom lived in the Netherlands at the time of World War II and grew up in a Christian family. When the Germans invaded her country, she and her family helped many Jews escape the atrocities of the war. In spite of the enormous danger of being found out by the tyrannical Nazis, they provided a safe hiding place in their house to Jews who were being hunted down. When caught, she was thrown into prison and would have met a certain horrible end herself, if not for a clerical error which got her released.
What could have prompted a godly woman to put her and her family’s lives at risk to save her neighbors, if not for the strength of the Lord? What would have given her the courage to hope against what was obvious, if not for the power of God? What placed a guard on her heart and led her to show love in extreme circumstances, if not for the peace of the Lord?
She believed, ‘If you look at the world, you’ll be distressed. If you look within, you’ll be depressed. But if you look at Christ, you’ll be at rest.’
In trying situations, when all seems lost, all we need to do is present our requests to God with prayer and thanksgiving (Philippians 4:6), and He will give us His rest. We should not fret, and should continue to do what He has asked us to do, just like Corrie, knowing that He will look after us in ways that would seem improbable, unthinkable and inconceivable.
Prayer
Lord, as we lay our burdens at Your feet, fill us with Your peace and lead us to do what is right in Your sight. Amen.

About this Plan

It is our prayer that it will reveal to those who don’t know Jesus Christ, that there is a Creator and Maker of this universe, the only loving and powerful God who longs for a personal relationship with every human being. We pray that these daily readings will remind us all of the great hope and abundant joy in knowing Jesus Christ, through whom we have eternal life!
