Precious Moments That Count For EternitySample
Intimacy is Ultimate
The heart’s desire of our Father God is for all of us to believe in His Son, Jesus. But just believing and living according to our own whims and fancies is not what pleases God. This is the reason why the last or the final commission given by Jesus is, teaching them to observe all things… (Matthew 28:20). That means, to live the Jesus way. But, if we continue to live the way we lived before accepting the Lord Jesus Christ, then we are not His disciples.
Jesus is not hard on us, nor does He leave us to bring about change in our life on our own. He wants us to hold on to the desire to change. When we take this step towards becoming His disciple, the Spirit of God comes alongside us, just as it is written, for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure (Philippians 2:13).
The most wonderful part about following Jesus, is after we hold on to the desire to change; He then strengthens us by giving us the will to do so. When this is accomplished, He is delighted or well pleased with us. He then acknowledges us as His disciples. Our way of life grows into such an intimacy with Jesus that we start to reflect His character. The way we speak, react, and conduct our life becomes almost like that of Christ. This is the height of intimacy and it always results in fruitfulness. Fruitfulness is being successful in every area of our life. This is what brings glory to the Father.
Prayer
Father, increase the measure of Your Spirit in my life as I thirst and desire for more of You. To You I surrender those areas in my life where no fruit is manifested. Rectify the wrong and prune me, I pray, so that fruit is seen in every area of my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
