With God Nothing Is Impossible

“And the angel answered and said to [Mary], ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.’” (Luke 1:35)

Foretelling the birth of Jesus, the angel Gabriel said to Mary, “With God nothing is impossible.” Everything in the Bible can actually be summarized by that sentence.

Unfortunately, we don’t always live our lives as if we believed that truth. On the contrary, we sometimes live as if we had a little God; and this makes our problems loom large by comparison. So we fret and bite our nails and lose sleep over the challenges we face. We may have a small manger under the Christmas tree this year, but it’s not good to have a small God.

The Christmas story is all about the impossible coming to pass: A virgin conceives and gives birth to the Savior of the world. The same God who had the Virgin Mary become the mother of Jesus is the same God who let him go to the cross for our sins; so that as we repent and put our trust in him, we could be forgiven, have restored relationship with the Father, have a renewed mind, and have eternal life.

The same God of the impossible can take your own impossible situation and turn it around. He can take you out of the deepest pit and change your life and the life of your loved ones from disaster to blessing. He can give you supernatural joy and peace that passes all understanding, no matter what you are going through.

If you are in need of a miracle in your life or in the life of a loved one today, why don’t you say, “Here I am; do what you promised”? That's exactly what Mary did when the angel told her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God."

What is the thing you know you can get only from God this Christmas? He can change your heart, change your desires, change your family, change that situation that has been troubling you, and give you a new beginning. For with God, nothing is impossible!
