A Miracle named Brian

Hello dear friend! I am so thankful to be believing in your miracle today.

Psalm 121 says:

"I will lift up my eyes to the hills—

From whence comes my help?

My help comes from the Lord,

Who made heaven and earth.

He will not allow your foot to be moved;

He who keeps you will not slumber.

Behold, He who keeps Israel

Shall neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is your keeper;

The Lord is your shade at your right hand.

The sun shall not strike you by day,

Nor the moon by night.

The Lord shall preserve you from all evil;

He shall preserve your soul.

The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in

From this time forth, and even forevermore."

(Psalm 121:1-8, NIV)

This tiny little song contains so many miracles! There is the miracle of God’s help and hope. There is the miracle of God’s presence and prominence. There is the miracle of God’s keeping and covering. There is the miracle of God’s preservation and protection.

God is a protector!

My friend Brian was a protector. At our church, we have a team of volunteers who provide safety and protection for the entire family of Christ the King Church. Brian was often assigned to me as a “Pastor Protector” and we spent hours together ministering, talking, and becoming closer than brothers. I will never forget the words of Brian as he said, “Grant, I will protect you with my life.”

I am thankful that Brian was never called to protect me in that way. He did, however, protect me in so many other ways. He protected me with prayer and understanding. He protected my family and made sure I always knew that we were being cared for with love and concern. He protected me with a servant's heart that always inquired, "Is there anything I can do for you?"

Brian received his protective heart from the God who protected him every day of his life.

Who can you offer the protection of a caring word today? The God of the Universe is protecting you and you can pay this miraculous offer forward by being protective of someone you love.

Right now, take a moment and thank God for the miracle of His protection! He sees you, knows you, loves you, and is protecting you as you seek refuge in Him. As you come to Him, ask Him for the name of someone that you can offer safety and security today.

Brian passed away suddenly from cancer a while back. He was working at his desk and then suddenly, God took him home. When it comes to the people of God, when we go home to be with Jesus, it’s always out of a heart of protection. The miracle of Heaven is waiting for all of us!

Hold eternity in your hearts today!
