Come and See

DAY 21 OF 21

There will be a day when Christ returns. Thousands of years ago, Jesus came into the
world as a baby. He was born inside a lowly stable, lived as a humble servant, and revealed the
love of God through His perfect sacrifice. But, one day He will return to reign victoriously as
King over all. The world will finally be made right as He establishes the fullness of His kingdom
on earth. The question is: What do we do until then?

On the Sea of Galilee, before His ascension, Christ appeared one final time. His followers
had seen His miracles, sat in His teachings, witnessed His resurrection, and received His Holy
Spirit. Now, what should they do with it all? We can learn a lot from them.

That day, the disciples knew with certainty that they were with Jesus. Knowing God
should be foundational to all believers. In faith, we should constantly be seeking Him. His Spirit
and His Word will lead us to who He is and what He wants for us.

The miraculous fish is a reminder that we have been sent to fish for people. Jesus came to
seek and save the lost. We now continue His work in reaching the world with His gospel. Our
lives should be a living testimony of who Christ is.

Peter’s call to love and care for the sheep gives weight to our responsibility as Christians.
We are to live in unity- serving, encouraging, and providing for the needs of each other. The
Church is called to lovingly imitate the example of Christ, who is our Good Shepherd.
In all things, the mandate of our life should be to follow Him. To the mountains and to the
valleys, in life and in death, we follow. Our direction should mimic the footprints of Jesus, who
showed us how to walk.

Words could never express the wondrous gift of the baby in a manger. By taking our
form and coming to earth, Christ not only gave us life, but He also taught us how to live.
So, until His return, we wait, and we follow. Come, Lord Jesus!

Day 20

About this Plan

Come and See

Stories of the nativity are important, but the story of why Jesus came should involve so much more than a manger scene. Focusing on one chapter a day through the book of John will reveal the beauty of who Christ is and why His birth was so important. In the flurry of Christmas, keep your eyes on Him. Come and see why Jesus is our greatest gift.
