I Can Do All Things “In You”: A 5-Day Devotional with Iveth LunaSample
“I CAN FACE THE LIONS, THE GIANTS, I’LL WALK TALL THROUGH THE VALLEY, FEAR WON’T SHAKE ME, WON’T BREAK ME."
When I began writing this devotional, I was so excited to get to share my heart in a different way through my current single: “In You”. When I began writing, a little lie began to seep into my thoughts, I felt “unqualified”. This lie began to work its way into other areas of my life and it got me thinking: how many times has God used the unqualified person for His glory?
Think of David the shepherd, who amidst the army of Israelites, was a mere boy. He was “unqualified” by human standards to defeat Goliath, but he did. He was unqualified by human standards to become King, but He did. What is the common denominator? David believed God would be with Him through it all. This is what he said before he fought the Giant, “The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine”. David was essentially saying: "if God had my back in the past, He has my back now and in the future". So whatever you’re facing right now be encouraged knowing that The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
What is a giant you’re facing in your life right now? It might be an unanswered prayer, or it might be a hard conversation you’re avoiding. Whatever it is, know that God has your back too. Fear does not have the final word, God does.
Application :
Write down Deuteronomy 31:8 in a mirror you see every day or in a journal to where you can come back to it.
Ask God to reveal to you any lions or giants you are avoiding. How can you trust God with these today?
Prayer:
Dear God, thank you for never leaving me in the highs and lows of my life. I want to take this fear that I have and exchange it for trust IN YOU. Thank you for all that you are for me and that even though I may not see it, you are working all things together for good. In Jesus' name, Amen!
Deuteronomy 31:8 The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
Romans 8:31 “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”
