Why Worry?Sample

The Release
When adversities find us, and they will, God provides shelter. According to Numbers 23:19, “God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind…” So, if we know this to be true, then why worry?
Naomi’s experience reveals how circumstances can make us feel separated from God. But regardless of how we perceive our misfortunes, we obtain the outcome of our faith (see 1 Peter 1:8-9). Ruth's trust in Naomi led them to Judah, which led to the Lord's divine plan.
Patience is required to reap the rewards of longsuffering. After Ruth married Boaz, a man of wealth, she and Naomi were able to escape poverty. Ruth and Boaz then gave birth to Obed, who became the father of Jesse, who became the father of King David. This was no ordinary blessing!
If Ruth and Naomi were alive today, they would be blessed by how their story has touched us for generations. While nothing can ever replace losing a loved one, we can imagine how the release of their afflictions must have felt as they received God’s blessings.
Find a quiet place to release your burden. Lay out the list you’ve been working on and prepare to seek God. If sin is the root of your afflictions, as some are, repent, ask for forgiveness, and sin no more (see John 5:14, John 8:11).
Pray: Heavenly Father, I’m casting my cares on you and laying down my burdens, every one of them (see Psalm 55:22). Strengthen me as I endure this difficult season. Help me to stay focused on You. Lord, You are a peacemaker when there is no peace and a way maker when there is no way. Your grace is sufficient for me, and Your power is perfect in my weakness (see 2 Cor 12:9). I put my trust in You. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
