A Servant's HeartSample
“Whatever you do, do it wholeheartedly, as if it were for the Lord and not for men, for you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward - your master is Christ!” (Colossians 3: 23-24)
What a commission God gives us here! Everything you do, do it wholeheartedly for Him. Everything! Even those tasks that come up every day and can feel like worry, washing the dishes, ironing or cleaning your house; those tasks that you dread that seem as high as a mountain? That difficult conversation, a difficult phone call or a deadline for your study or work?
Yes. Everything. Why does God ask this of us?
In the first verses of this passage, we read about our new life. Everything earthly in us must die. The old man and his way of life must be discarded and then you can put on the new man. God has chosen you. He wants you to dress in compassion, kindness, modesty, gentleness, and happiness. He wants your life to resemble the life He had in mind when He created this world.
Jesus has given us everything we need. He took our punishment. He suffered in our place. He overcame death and gives us salvation — Eternal Life! What more can we want? The least we can do for Him is involve Him in our lives. The least we - as children of God - can do is talk to our Daddy. He is waiting for you to speak. He longs to hear your voice.
So, while you wash the dishes, thank Him for the food He provides every day. Thank Him for the abundance of water. While you pull weeds in the garden, smell the fresh scents and thank Him. Sanctification takes place when we start living with God every minute of the day. Your relationship with God becomes a living and ongoing relationship. Not because we are ‘good.’ Don't do it for the people around you. Live for the glory of God, because it makes Him happy! Whatever tasks await you ... Give Him everything you can give.
Do your best, because He looks at you from heaven and smiles. We have a Father who sings and shouts over us!

About this Plan
In our world where it is so easy to be served, the call of Jesus tells us to rather BE the servants. The key is to keep looking up, keep seeking to please our Lord. Join us as we talk about several scriptures on servanthood, and be blessed in running the race to obtain the prize, to glorify the Lord.
