DAY 9 OF 20

Have you ever been afraid of the dark? Or told your older sibling, "You go first!" when walking into the basement? It's easier and more comforting to follow someone when walking into an unknown or scary space than to go headfirst into the dark yourself.

That's why adult mentors are important! They've walked into the basement before, navigated the steps in the dark, and they want to help you do the same with your faith.

When it comes to being a catalyst for change, adult mentors can be a huge help. They have history with Jesus that can be so helpful to learn from; they've asked a lot of the same questions you're asking now, and they've experienced a lot of the same things you're experiencing. Having an adult mentor to learn from can make a difference in your walk with Jesus—especially if your hope is to make a difference and spark change.

Do you have an adult mentor? What are some things you want to ask them this week?

About this Plan

Catalyst

Science can explain the mysteries in the world around us; there are answers for many of the mysterious things about faith too. You’ll learn in science class that “catalysts” are interactions that create big changes and transformations. Scripture shows us certain change-making “catalysts” are necessary for our faith and the faith of others. In this 20-day devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll explore the catalysts for our faith.
