How To Follow JesusSample
Disciples copy Jesus.
Did you know that when you’re Jesus’ disciple, you’re setting an example for others? It’s true! If you choose to follow Jesus, you’re showing others how to follow Jesus. Every time you’re loving, kind, forgive someone who hurts you, or obey, you’re setting an example of how to live like Jesus. Now that’s a great example!
It’s not so great if your choices don’t copy Jesus’ example. You’ll wind up setting a poor example for others. So ask yourself, “If someone follows my example, will they be a better disciple of Jesus?” If the answer is no, it’s time to start following Jesus’ example and copying His ways.
Take everything you’ve learned as a disciple of Jesus and put it into action so that others will be better disciples if they follow your example.
Watch the video, then use the Bible verse 1 Corinthians 11:1 to play Chart Attack. It will help you remember that the choices you make set an example for others!
Chart Attack
- Get a paper and something to write with.
- Write the Bible verse, 1 Corinthians 11:1, across the top of the paper.
- Make a chart with your family.
- On one side of the chart, write ways you can copy Jesus’ example.
- On the other side, write ways others can copy your example.
Talk It Over: How can you tell if your choices show others how to be disciples of Jesus? Talk about a time when you followed Jesus’ example. Talk about any times you think your actions helped someone else to live like Jesus.
