Declutter: Overhaul Your HeartSample
GRACE
Walking in the flow of God’s grace happens when we clear out things that hinder us from communicating clearly with him to make room to receive whatever he has for us. When our hearts are stopped up with the hurts of this world that we haven’t dealt with yet, it plugs up the flow of communication.
If you are struggling to declutter your soul, allow God’s grace to unlock those places of hurt and trauma. His grace can smooth the way for walking out hard things. It provides a healing balm for hurt places. Psalm 147:3 says He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
It’s all about His grace.
Where we are at our worst is where God will meet us. In 2 Corinthians 12:9, Paul reminds us that God’s grace is enough for us and where we are weak, Jesus’ power rests on us there.
God’s grace is the antidote to clutter in our hearts.
It’s not enough to ask for God’s grace. To cut through the mess and receive the healing God has for us, we have to accept it.
Sometimes, if we have cluttered-up hearts, we aren’t great at giving ourselves grace either. We’re much better at offering it to everyone else but not extending it to ourselves.
But God’s Word says For it is [not your strength, but it is] God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work [that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose] for His good pleasure. (Philippians 2:13 AMP)
Receiving God’s grace into our lives gives us the strength we need to clear out our hearts to get to the business at hand: His purpose for our lives. There’s enough of his grace to flow through us onto others. There’s enough of his unmerited favor for anyone who would accept it.
God’s grace is never-ending. It can move through our hearts, sweeping away the chaos, clutter, and confusion. Open your hands and heart wide. Let His grace run through you and overflow onto everyone you meet today.
Action: Meditate on Philippians 2:13. Where has God’s grace strengthened and energized you already? Where else do you need him to meet you with his strength?
Prayer: God, thank you that your grace is enough! Thank you for the strength and energy it gives me to keep taking each new step in clearing out the clutter. Please help me to be stronger in the places I am weak. I offer you all my heart to do what you will in it. I love you so much! In Jesus’ name, amen.
