Merciful Moments for M.O.M.S

DAY 5 OF 5

S- Seek Community

What are all the other mothers doing? Where are they? Are they struggling too? These are all questions that I asked myself as I sat alone, looking at a load of laundry on one side and toys on the other. During the long days of motherhood, I often have felt alone and longed to connect with other adults and mothers to share, strengthen and support.

When we are in the routine of cooking, reading books, playing with our children, carpooling, and laundry, it can feel isolating. While we know we aren’t the only ones, life can feel that way at times. There is limited time to catch our breath, let alone share our struggles. The enemy tends to whisper lies, telling us that we are alone and must suffer in silence. Receiving God’s mercy reminds us that we are not alone, and God created us for community.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 states the importance of two being better than one.

We can connect in community through small groups, online communities, virtual meetups, counseling, or a prayer partner. Find what works for you. As a first-time mom, I found incredible support from a local mom’s group, where I shared my joys and challenges of raising a newborn. If you don’t have family or friends nearby, be creative in finding ways to stay connected. I also invite you to pray to God for wisdom for direction on where to start to find community.

We are called to carry each other’s burdens (Galatians 6:2) in healthy and supportive ways.

With each new day and new mercy, seek community and relationships that will uplift and strengthen your spirit.

God called us to motherhood for a unique purpose, and it takes a village to support, uplift, and encourage us through the joys and challenges.

Sis, you are not alone.

Today, I invite you to continue to receive God’s mercy in new and refreshing ways by embracing your messy moments, celebrating and giving thanks to God for how far you’ve come, moving forward in faith, and seeking community.

Motherhood is a precious gift from God, and we’re in this together! Be encouraged!

Reflection: Who will you seek out to develop a community of support?

Day 4

About this Plan

Merciful Moments for M.O.M.S

Motherhood is a gift that shouldn’t be confined to a series of to-do lists, marked milestones, or filtered photos. Using the M.O.M.S acronym, I empower you to lay down your ideals, plans, and perfectionism at Jesus’ feet, and pick up a new perspective, grateful heart, and courage to move forward each day. Start this plan to renew your spirit, attitude, and mind to receive God’s new mercies.
