Did You Get The Call?
Today’s verse tells us of a special type of call in a believer’s life. Many believers have an individual call such as the "call to preach," or "the call to go to the mission field." Peter writes concerning a call that all believers have: if we suffer for doing good, we should endure it. Why? Jesus lived the example for us to follow. Remember, the Word instructs us that worldly people love darkness and we are the light so conflict will be inevitable. We know what to do and we should follow in His steps.
Prayer: When I find myself in the place of suffering, lead me not unto temptation, but deliver me from evil. Please give me the spirit of humility to accept suffering for doing good and may the opportunity be used to glorify You. Thank you for suffering for me - I can do no less. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
