Looking for Hope in a Hopeless World

DAY 9 OF 12

In Whom do we put our Hope?

We cannot hope in the government to give us salvation, nor will money be our savior. We cannot even rely on our own strength and understanding to lead us to the hope of salvation.

Who shall we trust to give us the hope of salvation? There is only one. Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who we receive by faith through grace.

Our faith and hope are in Jesus because He is the only one that can deliver us from sin. Our hope is in Jesus Christ who was established to be our Savior and hope by the Father.

The hopelessness of this world has never been more exposed than in this global pandemic. COVID has exposed the weak underbelly of this world, showing how ineffective the ways of mankind are in the face of such disasters.

But in spite of all of these problems and disasters in the modern world, and knowing that they must happen as they were ordained by God, those who seek Christ Jesus as their hope have a way out. We cannot escape the things that are happening, but with Christ as our hope we can overcome the fear, desperation, and hopelessness that grips the whole world.

In Christ we have the peace that surpasses all understanding as we put our situation into His hands in hope, trusting Him to save us.

This is a time for Christians to practice endurance and to bear testimony to the power of Jesus to save.

This hope of salvation in Jesus Christ is open to everyone who seeks Him. It is not just for a chosen few, but every person, old or young, Jew or Gentile, and regardless of ethnicity or race, every person who seeks God through Jesus Christ will be accepted.

And it doesn’t matter what anyone has done. There is nothing that the Lord will not forgive a person when they come to Him.

That is why Jesus Christ is the one in whom we have hope. There is no hope in anyone or anything else. He will remove all of our suffering, stress, anxiety, and sin so that we can stand with Him in His kingdom.

Without Him there is only hopelessness because this world is futile and was subjected to futility by God. This world and this life are just a test. The real life that is promised to those who hope in Jesus Christ is yet to come. We need to set our minds on the things to come rather than the troubles of this life, and so receive the hope of salvation that is in Jesus Christ alone.
