Protection
John 16:33 offers us profound assurance of God’s protection in this life. Jesus said, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (NIV). Yes, he has provided us with everything we need to be victorious in this world, but God’s concern is more with our souls than our bodies. When we think about protection, it is often associated with the threats in this life. However, the most significant risks are not to our physical bodies, earthly lives, or material possessions but to the things we cannot touch or see. When we abide in God’s presence and walk in his Word, we receive a hedge of protection for our peace and joy. God often protects things we don’t see readily from threats we aren’t aware of. The gift of discernment is invaluable, so follow the still, small voice of God. When you do, you will walk in the protection of God.
Heavenly Father, thank you for your Word, for wisdom, and for your protection over all aspects of my life. Open my eyes to the strategies of the enemy and protect me from his attacks. Amen.
How can walking with Jesus protect you from the attacks of the enemy?
