DAY 15 OF 40

God's Prosperity Plan

“John and I literally used to sit down and say, 'Now, let's write about a swimming pool.’”

– Paul McCartney

This became a common saying between John Lennon and Paul McCartney following an exchange John had with Paul in response to Yoko Ono’s (John’s wife) request to install a swimming pool in their backyard. John was taken back by this request and vented his frustration with Paul. Paul’s response to John was quite interesting. Paul, basically, said to John, “Money is not an issue for you. All we have to do is write another song.” This gave birth to the saying, ``Write another swimming pool.”

The Beatles were already wealthy in 1964 when Paul McCartney and John Lennon sat down to "write a swimming pool.” Whenever they wanted more money, they didn’t go to the bank to borrow money. They, simply, tapped into their gift for songwriting and would write another hit, so they could buy whatever they wanted.

What are you seeing from this story?

One thing I am seeing is that their wealth was not in their money or material things. Their wealth was in their gift for songwriting.

For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

– 2 Corinthians 8:9 (KJV)

Likewise, you and I are already wealthy, and as such, there is a certain way we ought to think: we do not work for riches – no, we work from riches; we do not spend time thinking about money – no, we (as kings) spend time watering and nurturing the creative gifts (insights, concepts, and ideas) the King of kings has placed in our hearts, knowing that “he who has begun a good work in you will complete it” (Philippians 1:6, NKJV).

So many people are pursuing wealth, when in fact, we are the wealth (economy) of God personified, and from that place of spiritual wealth (Luke 12:21), all other forms of wealth flows:

1. Soul Wealth (Matthew 16:26, I Corinthians 2:16)

2. Physical Wealth (3 John 2)

3. Social Wealth (Isaiah 43:4)

4. Influential Wealth (Romans 5:17)

5. Community Wealth (Ephesians 4:13)

6. Generational Wealth (Proverbs 13:22)

This pandemic has caused me to put myself on timeout, and to truly examine my source of wealth.

That is what I have been learning about Jesus (that he is not only my source, but my only source).

Key Quotation

Question

Friends, if you know that you already possess spiritual wealth (the fountainhead to all other forms of wealth) in your gift, is the issue really attainment of wealth, or is it the unveiling of God’s prosperity plan?
