Up! We Will Elevate (Week 6)Sample
Day Five - I See The Good In Others
Welcome to this devotional for kids! Our ‘UP’ series is inspired by our ‘We Will Elevate’ DNA. We practice showing kindness to those around us and never leave anyone out. We value others the way God values us by being a good friend and listener, respecting our leaders and parents, and choosing to always see the good in others.
During this series, we want to truly grasp what it means to honor and elevate those around us, not just those who seem to be popular or the most important in our lives, but to remember that God wants us to ‘take delight in honoring each other’ that means everyone!
Follow along as we truly grasp what it means to honor and elevate those around us!
READ:
A Hole in the Roof in any children's Bible or Matthew 9:1-8.
Yesterday, we focused on how God sees us. Today we will focus on seeing people through God’s eyes.
ASK:
God always gives second chances, He is forgiving, gives freedom, and an amazing hope for the future and beyond!
Understanding all of this helps us to see people in the loving way that God sees them. In 1 Corinthians 13, it says,
‘Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, and it is not proud. Love is not rude, is not selfish, and does not become angry easily. Love does not remember wrongs done against it. Love takes no pleasure in evil, but rejoices over the truth. Love patiently accepts all things. It always trusts, always hopes, and always continues strong. Love never ends.’
Talk with your grown-up today about how you might be able to use this bible verse to grow in love toward your friends and others around you.
REMEMBER:
Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. (Romans 12:10)
SAY:
Jesus, you show us how to be kind,
No greater love will we find.
Your deep love gives us great value,
Growing us as we learn more about you.
Our friend, our savior, our kind teacher,
Helping us see the good in each other.
Amen.
