Becoming the Woman God Destined You to Be Sample
The Seed of Destiny
Your destiny, your divine purpose, begins with a small seed planted in your heart by the Lord Most High. The Word says, “He has also planted eternity [a sense of divine purpose] in the human heart [a mysterious longing which nothing under the sun can satisfy, except God]” (Eccles. 3:11, AMP). The only way you can truly fill that longing for a sense of divine purpose is to know and pursue your divine purpose. You can do a million good and godly things, but if they are not part of your purpose, they will only bring temporary satisfaction at best. You must have the courage to say no to things that are not part of your assignment.
God planted that seed of divine destiny in your heart, but you need to cultivate it so it can grow.
Just like natural seeds, what God has planted in you needs water:
“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive.
—JOHN 7:38–39
Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word.
—EPHESIANS 5:25–26
But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.
—JOHN 4:14
What God has planted in you needs light:
The LORD is my light and my salvation.
—PSALM 27:1
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
—PSALM 119:105
What God has planted in you needs to be nourished:
Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart.
—JEREMIAH 15:16
As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
—1 PETER 2:2–3
I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
—JOHN 15:5
And once the seed has grown, it needs to be pruned:
I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
—JOHN 15:1–2
The Lord wants you to be fruitful. He wants you to do more than just talk about your destiny; He wants you to act. When God makes you free, you are free indeed (John 8:36). That means you are free of excuses—no more limitations or obstacles based on your gender, color, social class, or economic status. A legendary woman in pursuit of her purpose does not fall victim to any mentality that provides an excuse or a limitation or a false expectation or a barrier.
Knowing your God-given purpose emboldens you to face down the opposition. You know who you are because you know whose you are, and nothing is going to stand in the way of your pursuit of your purpose. Knowing your purpose lessens your options because you realize His way is the only path.
