Freedom From Porn Begins HereSample
Day 24
The Opposite of Addiction
Boom! We are in the final week!
This week we are going to talk about a crucial element of overcoming porn.
Every sex addiction expert and therapist I have talked to tells me the same thing: “No one gets free on their own.”
You may still be thinking you don’t want to talk to anyone about this. It’s normal to feel that way, but it is also self-defeating. Freedom is found in community.
Today’s Challenge:
- Watch The Opposite of Addiction video.
- Answer the questions.
Reflection Questions:
- Porn stunts people’s growth relationally, emotionally, spiritually and sexually. 1 Peter 2:11 says that “fleshly lust wages war against the soul”. How do you think porn use stunts a person’s spiritual growth?
- How does Rat Park change how we think about addiction?
- What does it mean that the opposite of addiction is connection? What does this say about the importance of small groups?
- The survey of 1000 recovered sex addicts showed that God and a small group were the top two factors for recovery. Why do you think that people need God and others to recover?
