Walk Through The Bible 365 - JuneSample
The Big Five
We are reading the closing thoughts of 1 Corinthians and right in the middle of his message, Paul pens a set of instructions. The flow of thought tells of Paul's plan to visit, next, Timothy is coming and then Apollos will come when the opportunity exists. Boom!..., we read, "Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love." Five action phrases. How can we apply these to our lives? Please stop for a moment and ask yourself, "What is happening in my life that I need to consider one of these commands?" Remember David's five smooth stones he had ready for the giant Goliath? Perhaps one of these "stones" will help you be victorious in your present situation.
Prayer: Praise God for the victory! Thank you, Father, that today I can be victorious by being on my guard, standing firm in the faith, being courageous, and being strong. Please fill me with the love to do everything I need to do. Let Your Word quicken me so I may do Your will and You be glorified. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
